Counterfeits

counterfeit KM-377.12 8r 1836 Pi JS (Briggs & Bustos Counterfeit issues II, 10 August 2025, lot 77)

Contemporary counterfeit, struck on a planchet of mixed composition. The engraving is notably similar to that of the official issues from the San Luis Potosí mint, though the overall design is slightly cruder, and the edge cord appears thicker than usual.
